Despierta A Los Muertos

Following the success of the Smoking Stag Whisky brand, I worked again with Robert Graham Whisky on another exclusive product – this time, a limited edition rum named ‘Despierta A Los Muertos’.

With the name of the rum translating to “awaken the dead”, the client was looking for a design inspired by the Day of the Dead Mexican holiday. This strong visual inspiration fed directly into the final design, focusing on a single portrait of the ‘calavera Catrina’ – the iconic skull renowned as a recognised symbol across the world.

The result was a brand that pays homage to its roots whilst providing an original spin for Smoking Stag’s 200-bottle limited edition run.
